Wine Investment – Better than FTSE
Anyone thinking of investing would do well to look at investment options beyond the obvious stocks, shares and property. Wine investment is one particular market that is growing steadily, and is significantly outperforming the FTSE.
Despite the recession, the wine investment market has continued growing at a staggering rate, shattering all previous records of its own value. Such astounding growth is fuelled primarily by ‘emerging ‘ markets in the Far East, Asia, Latin America, Russia and in particular China. The market is currently up 166% over the last five years, compared to 16% for the FTSE 100.
It is in the emerging markets that the explanation of wine investment’s growth comes from. After all, these markets were far less affected by the collapse of Lehman Brothers and everything that happened as a consequence than were the western economies. Read the rest of this entry »
